How do you clean a sheepskin numnah?
I just acquired a really cheep bag full of sheepskin numnah's at an auction.
They're in good shape, but are filthy!
My parents are a little iffy about using the washing machine, would it damage it to wash them in it? Is there any other way? What settings would I use?

I've tried handwashing them, the dirt is ground in so deep it barely made a differene!
Answer: i have a sheepskin numnah, what i use to wash it is woolwash, it should be available in you local supermarket.
i usually let it soak for a bit them i get a stiff bristled brush and scrub it gently.
then rinse it with warm water then i wash it again. i keep washing it unill it is desired cleanliness. then i put it in the washing machine on spin and i let it spin out. then i lay flat in the shade outside and lt it dry, while it is still partially damp i brush it with the stiff bristled brush to regain the texture, like the pill i think its called :P
you must have got a bargain my sheepskin numnah costed me $350
and i dont even have any se for it anymore.
