what is sheepskin do they kill the sheep to make things like ugg boots?

I use to think they just shaved the sheep but when i read the box it said sheepskin and i looked it up on google and it sounds like they kill the sheep to make things like uggs.
if anyone thinks im retarded for asking this it is because at school people were arguing if they kill she for uggs or not. So i just wanted to know the real facts.

Answer:
Sheepskin is the skin of a sheep... it would be like taking the skin of a human and calling it humanskin.
But obviously that won't happen.
They do have to kill the sheep for UGGs, but may I note not all UGGs.
The UGG Cardy does not use sheepskin but does have sheep fur, but as you know, does not kill the sheep.
In Austrailia they have a large population of sheep, and they use the sheep not just for the UGGs as it seems, but sheep is a very common food there.
It's like their leather and beef.
And who knows.
Maybe you're one of those animal rights people, or maybe you're into fashion.
But really, think about it, there are more sheep than people in the world. If we didn't kill a few, then they would become over-populated, not have enough food, and then they would all die out.
Do you really want that to happen?
And I'm a Christian and I believe that if Jesus could eat meat and not cry about it, then I can wear UGGs.
Hope I helped!

xoxo, Dez
